Talking Points From Manchester United's 3-2 Win Over Ipswich

Manchester United were able to come out of the tough clash against relegation threatened Ipswich despite going a man down for a huge part of the game. So what were the key talking points from the game? Read on to find out.

Bruno Fernandes with a Man of The Match display

The Manchester United captain showed once again why he is still one of the shinning lights at Manchester United so far this season. He picked up from his excellent display against Everton by putting out a very decent showing in the heart of the midfield for Manchester United. If he continues to put up decent display for Manchester United it won't be long before he wins the heart of all his numerous critics.

Dorgu failed to impress

The young defender had a terrible display in the night and would be grateful to his teammates for getting him out of jail with the victory in the night. His lack of communication with Onana led to Ipswich first goal of the night before his horrendous tackle on Ipswich's attacker Omari Hutchinson got him the matching order. The young left full back will look to bounce back from this terrible showing when his suspension expires.

Onana is not Manchester United's standard

The Manchester United's shot stopper had a hand in the two goals conceded in the night against Ipswich. His lack of communication with Dorgu led to the first goal conceded and then his poor judgement of the ball from what was intended to be a cross from Jaden Philogene-Bidace led to the second goal. The Camerounian shot stopper was brought into the club by Ten Hag to improve Manchester United's build up play from the back but so far, he has failed in that aspect and is also not doing well to impress with his shot-stopping abilities. Ruben Amorim will be considering replacing the former Inter shot stopper as soon as possible.

Ipswich destined to be relegated

Ipswich who are yet to win a single match in 2025 are destined to be relegated this season. They failed to capitalize on Manchester United going a man down in the late minutes of the first half and were unable to pick a point at least despite equalizing before halftime. It's going to be almost impossible to see them avoid going down this season unless a miracle happens.

Ruben Amorim's tactical response to red card spot on

The Manchester United's boss made some tactical changes as soon as the team went a man down as he made sure to overload the midfield and ensured the defense remained overloaded when defending against Ipswich on the night. This is not the first time the former Sporting boss has excelled despite seeing his team going a man down as he also engineered a win against Arsenal in the FA Cup despite going a man down. This kind of feat shows that the Portuguese tactician remains the best man to take Manchester United back to the glory days.
