Liverpool recorded their second league draw in a row at Anfield to leave Arsenal top of the table going into Christmas. So what were the talking points from the game? Read on to find out.

Salah will be missed when he departs for AFCON

The importance of Mohammed Salah in the Liverpool team can not be over emphasized. Without him today, this game probably would have ended in a loss for Liverpool. Salah's goalscoring ability is top notch and was evident in the goal he scored in this game. Jurgen Klopp will be worried with AFCON tournament just around the corner. The club might need to sign someone in January to replace Salah or Klopp might have to improvise with what he is got.

Gomez really impressed when he came in

Joe Gomez came in to replace the injured Tsimikas in the 35th minute and he really performed well especially in attack as he forced Raya who was in goal for Arsenal to two important saves. He also defended well against Saka on the flank to limit the Arsenal winger in the game. It's left to be seen if the English defender can build up on this performance in the future matches.

Arsenal look good to finally clinch the title this season

The Gunners are looking good to finally win the title this season. Liverpool who is their closest rival for the title this season are going to lose Salah in January while Manchester City look inconsistent this season in the league. If Mikel Arteta's men don't capitulate like they did last season then this season's title is theirs to lose.
