Hurray! The Premier League is back! After the long wait, the most exciting league in the world is finally upon us. As usual, the league kicks off with some mouthwatering games and the Pundit is back with his expert tips on all the matches to take place in match day 1. So who will come out on top this weekend? Read on to find out...
Burnley vs Manchester City
When these two teams met in the FA Cup last season, Manchester City completely destroyed Burnley 6-0 and Manchester City have always had the edge in the previous meetings between the two sides. I think things will remain the same way as I am tipping Pep Guardiola's men to begin the season on a winning note on Friday night.

Arsenal vs Nottingham Forest
I know Nottingham Forest defeated Arsenal 1-0 the last time both teams met but I think Arsenal will come out on top in this one. The Gunners have made some brilliant signings in the market this season and I think they will also want to consolidate on their win over Manchester City in the Community Shield last weekend.

Bournemouth vs West Ham
West Ham have defeated Bournemouth in the last three meetings between the two sides and they will be looking to continue their winning streak against Bournemouth here. But this game being the opening fixture for the season, I expect Bournemouth to put out a performance that will make life difficult for West Ham. So I am going to go for a draw here with West Ham the likelier side to win the game if the game produces a winner.

Everton vs Fulham
Fulham have been the better side in the previous meetings between the two sides but I expect Everton to try to change that at home in the opening fixture of the Premier League. So I am going to go for Everton to win or draw in this one.

Brighton vs Luton
Brighton will be looking to continue in their impressive performance from last season and I expect them to come out on top at home against newcomers Luton. I haven't seen much of Luton but I don't think they haven't got what it takes to cause an upset in this clash.

Sheffield United vs Crystal Palace
Sheffield United will love to mark their return to the Premier League with a win here but I think this match is going to be difficult for both teams. Crystal Palace doesn't have their talismanic winger in Wilfried Zaha who has left for Galatasaray in the transfer window. So it will be interesting to see who steps up to fill Zaha's shoe in Crystal Palace. I think this game will end in a stalemate as I am struggling to pick a winner here.

Newcastle vs Aston Villa
This game is really going to be exciting just as it was when the two sides met in a pre-season friendly game which ended in a 3-3 draw. Both teams are very technical in their play and have got brilliant managers. So I expect this one to produce goals at both ends of the pitch.

Brentford vs Tottenham
Tottenham were really awful last season but I expect them to perform better than last season this season. They now have a new manager who loves to play expansive football. The future of Harry Kane is still in doubt so I am not sure if he will play in this one. But if he does play, I expect Tottenham to try to get something from this clash. So I am going for Tottenham to win or draw this clash.

Chelsea vs Liverpool
This is the game everyone will be looking forward to this weekend as these two heavyweights meet at Stamford Bridge on Sunday evening. Chelsea now have a new manager in person of Mauricio Pochettino and they have also acquired some interesting players in the transfer window. Chelsea went the whole pre-season unbeaten and will like to continue in that vein of form here but Liverpool are a very difficult side to play against on their day. So I expect this game to be very difficult for both sides. To put things into context, the last four meetings between these two sides have ended in a 0-0 draw. But I think this one will produce goals even though I expect the game to end in another draw.

Manchester United vs Wolves
Manchester United are expected to contend for the title this season having made some very interesting signings this season. Wolves however are in some mess having lost Julen Lopetegui just before the start of the season. I think Manchester United should have enough to defeat Wolves in front of their home fans to kick start their campaign on a positive note.
