Shall we save the NFF some criticism on the new World Cup kits?

Three months after the Super Eagles sealed qualification to appear at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, the 5th time in the country's history. Sports manufacturer, Nike unveiled the World Cup kit and Camp wears which the Eagles will don at the Mundial in line with FIFA directives that all World Cup kit must be available 4 months before the World Cup.

Wednesday, Feb 7th, and in our usual way of surfing the internet, we came across the New Jersey as tweeted by Heidi Burgett of Nike, first was a leaked version which eventually came out to be the real Jersey.

Afterwards came the Nike Video of the unveiling of the jersey. The home jersey is dark green with a neon logo, while the away kit is a neon and white retro design on the body, and dark green chevrons on a white background on the arms.

On the home jersey, Iheanacho said: ''Wow I love this one''. And Iwobi agreed, saying: ''Yeah, I like this one, you know''.
Mikel added: ''I can see the players going crazy over this one''. Ndidi said: ''Oh, this is lovely'
On the alternate jersey, Ndidi said : ''It is nice, it is cultural, I just can't wait.''

To start with, it's obvious the players love the Kits. And since they are the main actors on the pitch, It's high time we stop the criticism towards the NFF. Many have said that the NFF didn't pick or agree to the best of Jerseys for the Eagles.

Social media criticism especially Twitter started pouring in and of course those that loved the Jersey also shared their thoughts. Some said the All Green Jersey seems too dark a Green and how come we have a black stripe to our Jersey, the other one modeled by Iwobi.

For those criticizing how dark and light the jerseys are...Here is the FIFA Rule on Jersey:
FIFA's Rule 2, section 35 of the World Cup regulations states: “Each team shall inform FIFA of two different and contrasting colours. One predominately dark and another predominately light for its official and reserve kit.”

FIFA believe light v dark help the referee clarify tussles, lunges, tackles and deflections.

I am such a young boy, but am being told that the Jersey mirrored the 1994 World Cup kit, which had our best outing at the World Cup.
Talk about some luck charm heading into the World Cup, then it has to be this Jersey which is a replica of the 1994 Golden generation of Nigeria football.

The Super Eagles excelled in a similar design at the USA '94 FIFA World Cup

Putting out a World Cup Jersey won't go down well with every individual but it is of great joy for the NFF that close to 70% are in love with the kit while 30% seems to be skeptical. This post is meant for the 30% doubting Thomas's.

No one has said anything about the other outfits, Nike released a series of cloths, snap backs, jackets and sweat shirts which everyone loved.

From a business point of view, Nike will love us if we turn these opinions to blog stories and all, twitter hashtags and others. It will give traction and ensure they sell, something they have not been able to do before.

Also, the UK Mirror Football rated the Jersey as number 1 to be unveiled by any of the 32 countries at the World Cup, that speaks a whole lots of volume.

One of the players expected to represent Nigeria in next year's FIFA Women's Worl Cup Sophia Omotola Omodiji modeling the new jerseys alongside Arsenal and Super Eagles forward Alex Iwobi in London

Iwobi can't wait to get on the pitch in one of the new jerseys

The Jersey has already been revealed, we can't change it and to think of it, Jerseys doesn't determine a World Cup performance rather what you can do on the pitch.

Music star Wizkid wasn't left out in the unveiling in London

Let's get our criticism off the NFF and support the Eagles in it's quest towards surpassing our Round of 16 appearance at the last World Cup.
