Compliments of the season. Boxing Day is just upon us, and the Premier League have quite some package of it's own; in the form of some eye-catching fixtures for its teeming followers to enjoy, so you wouldn't be missing in the gifts at all. Time to take you through my thoughts and predictions for Match Week 18.
Here are my Boxing Day predictions:
WATFORD VS CRYSTAL PALACE
Walter Mazzarri stated(in his pre-match conference) he would definitely be going for a change in tactics, thanks to the dismissal of Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew on Thursday. Probably he too must have found out the puny side of the former Palace manager's team; prompting a change - after he was axed. But, who ever stands in the technical area of Crystal Palace on Matchday, definitely would be out to impress and present Watford something different from the expected.
MY PREDICTION: Watford 1-1 Crystal Palace
ARSENAL VS WEST BROM
Arsenal didn't show up at City last Match Day(particularly in the second half) and they would be looking to change that, when they face another unimpressive side from last week's fixture. Playing at home would definitely provide the Gunners some sort of motivations, which they have been lacking in their last 2 Premier League fixtures; of which they lost all two. But a Tony Pulis led side, is not one to easily underestimate.
MY PREDICTION: Arsenal 2-0 West Brom
BURNLEY VS MIDDLESBROUGH
Only one point separate both sides on the log. Similarly portraying the minimal difference in level between the two club sides. I expect the match to be tough for both sides. But would be going for a Burnley triumph here.
MY PREDICTION: Burnley 1-0 Middlesbrough
CHELSEA VS BOURNEMOUTH
Chelsea definitely just can't be stopped at the moment. And it would really prove very difficult for Eddie Howe to do so when his side clash with The Blues at the Bridge. It really hurts to see Chelsea enjoy an 11- match winning streak, but Bournemouth might just help extend it to 12 on Match Day 18.
MY PREDICTION: Chelsea 2-0 Bournemouth
LEICESTER VS EVERTON
The worst of any side defending her title, Leicester City definitely proving last season's conquest was a fluke or rather, the 'Big Boys' let them the chance. But if last weekend's performance was anything to go by, Leicester can build on that and win at the King Powers. Everton also hasn't gotten things rosy, and would be looking to change that against disappointing champions, Leicester City.
MY PREDICTION: Leicester City 2-1 Everton
MANCHESTER UNITED VS SUNDERLAND
The Red Devils would be seeking to stretch their 3 straight wins in the League, when they battle David Moyes's Sunderland at Old Trafford. The Black Cat's boss (who is also a former United manager) would be eager to prove his worth to his former employers. But I just can't see Sunderland upsetting this United in anyway.
MY PREDICTION: Manutd 3-1 Sunderland
SWANSEA VS WEST HAM
Swansea are still struggling, but so also is West Ham. Both managers will set their sides all out for a win, which absolutely sets the encounter for an interesting one to see. This one seem quite difficult to call. But a draw looks imminent, though.
MY PREDICTION: Swansea 1-1 West Ham
HULL CITY VS MANCHESTER CITY
Fernandinho returns to fortify the Citizen's midfield, after completing his 3 match ban. Meanwhile, the quality showed by Pep Guardiola's side; after upsetting Arsenal in a dramatic fashion last weekend is one that this weakened Hull City side would struggle to match. Hull should still give a good account of themselves no doubt, but I expect Mancity to win.
MY PREDICTION: Hull City 0-2 Man City
LIVERPOOL VS STOKE CITY
Liverpool come into this clash after securing two consecutive away victories. While, Stoke come into this one - after two consecutive home draws. That stat alone, rightfully indicates the level of form both sides operates on; heading into this clash.
MY PREDICTION: Liverpool 2-1 Stoke City
SOUTHAMPTON VS SPURS
This clash is poised to be highly intriguing, as both clubs are in-form and also quite impressive. I am particularly impressed with what Claude Puel has achieved with this Soton side. It won't be surprising, if his wards come out with something decent against Mauricio Pochettino's Spurs.
MY PREDICTION: Southampton 1-1 Spurs
