TRIPLE MOSES SELECTION DILEMMA FOR GERNOT ROHR

The Super Eagles technical adviser recently released his 24- man squad to face Algeria, and many were well pleased with the names of players announced ahead of the clash slated for Uyo. But it is the inclusion of the Moses trio in; Ahmed Musa(known as Moses in hebrew), Victor Moses and Simon Moses that will now cause the manager worries - as to whom to start alongside the ever impressive Alex Iwobi on the wings.

The match against Zambia, presented the Eagles coaching crew with a broader picture of whom to start on the flanks alongside Iwobi; as  the pair of Moses Simon and Ahmed Musa were utilized in Ndola. Moses Simon didn't get to show many; including the Super Eagles gaffer - what was expected of him and he was duly withdrawn for Musa who seemingly impressed with his 'short - lived' performance. He has also improved on his form at his clubside Leicester City; after his two goals in the league for the foxes, has helped revived his club after their poor start to the season in the Premier League.

Moses Simon has also went on from the 'Ndola debacle' to impress with his clubside(KAA Gent) in Belgium; scoring three goals from 11 appearances for his clubside this season. But, it is Victor Moses that is stealing over the front pages of many newspapers, as his recent performances for Chelsea got many pundits and soccer enthusiasts astonished; with Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp so awed by Moses performance for Chelsea against Southampton, he erroneously referred to Victor Moses as a 'Young English talent'. One can only pardon Redknapp's blooper, as he only got carried away by the Super Eagles star's incredible performance for 'The Blues' of Chelsea.

Victor Moses has not only improved his attacking play (scoring 2 goals in the Premier League and adding an assist, with a goal also for the Blues in the EFL Cup), He has also gone on to improve his defensive side - playing as a wing back for his club in Conte's preferred 3-4-3 formation. Something any manager, including Gernot Rohr would be pleased to see in a wild player.

The 'purple patch' currently being experienced by the 'Moses trio' of Victor Moses, Ahmed Musa and Simon Moses is definitely a welcome development for the Super Eagles. But, it also presents the Eagles gaffer with plenty to think and worry about, as he looks to get his side ready for a crunch World Cup qualifiers match against the Desert Foxes of Algeria. November 12 would provide us with the answer; as to which of the Moses get the nod to partner IwobI on the Eagles flank.

  1. The right back position has been an Achilles heel for the Super Eagles of late so maybe Victor is the answer😁. Victor will definitely start so its who Rohr picks between Ahmed and Simon.

    1. Yeah, our right back problem lingers. But I don't expect to see Rohr start Victor in that position. Unless he is gonna also utilize the 3-4-3 formation used at Chelsea - which I don't seriously think he would do. So Victor will definitely feature on the wing for the Eagles and thats where the headache lies.
