Odiko Godwin's EPL Match Week 8 Predictions

Its good to pen this again after all the alluring actions of the international break.
The English Premier League brings with it as always - very fascinating and mouth-watering fixtures, and match day 8 is no exemption. I would as always, share my thoughts and drop my predictions.

CHELSEA VS LEICESTER CITY

There would be no better way to start off this weekend round of matches than beginning with a clash between last season's champions against the former champions. Chelsea have been trying to find their rhythm under new boss Antonio Conte and victory over Hull away last time out was an evidence the 'Blues' are beginning to gel. With Conte starting to understand his team better. Leicester City have been experiencing a 'turpsy-turvy' season, with their draw at home to Southampton a testament of their struggles so far. Both sides have already clashed in the EFL cup this season - with Chelsea running away from the King Power Stadium with a 4-2 win after extra time. I expect Leicester to come into this clash wanting to get something out of it and forcing their host to make lots of mistakes.

MY PREDICTION: Chelsea 2-2 Leicester City

ARSENAL VS SWANSEA CITY

Arsenal have been experiencing a 'purple-patch' in the league recently and I expect them to continue in that form against a relatively weak Swansea side. Bob Bradley has being appointed the new manager ahead of this clash - after the Welsh side parted company with Francesco Guidolin, and it would be interesting to see how the team surges under their new boss. I expect the 'Gunners' to win this one; as I don't see Swansea improving immediately under Bradley.

MY PREDICTION: Arsenal 2-0 Swansea City

BOURNEMOUTH VS HULL CITY

Eddie Howe's side have been somewhat impressive in the league recently; with victory over Everton at home followed by a draw at Watford. But the same cannot be said of Hull who have been beaten in their last two league fixtures. The match would be keenly contested though, but I expect Bournemouth to just nick it with a slim win.

MY PREDICTION: Bournemouth 1-0 Hull City

MANCHESTER CITY VS EVERTON

The Citizens were dashed a big blow to halt their perfect start to the season at Spurs last time out. Man City would be looking to bounce back at home to Everton in this encounter. I expect Everton to give City a good run for their money, but Pep Guardiola would be seeking all three point here.

MY PREDICTION: Man City 2-1 Everton

STOKE CITY VS SUNDERLAND

Fortunate to have gotten a point from their match against Manutd at Oldtrafford, Stoke would be wanting to build on that at home against Sunderland. Both sides are closely placed at the bottom of the log - with Sunderland placed 20th heading into match week 8. This one would be interesting to see, and also difficult to call.

MY PREDICTION: Stoke 1-1 Sunderland

WEST BROM VS TOTTENHAM

The Baggies heads into this clash well inspired - after grabbing a point at Sunderland on match week 7. But Spurs would be more inspired heading into this one - after their 'sweet 2-0 triumph over City last time out and still the only unbeaten side after seven rounds of league matches. I expect West Brom to make things difficult for the london based side at 'The Hawthorns'. Hence, I would settle for a draw in this fixture.

MY PREDICTION: West Brom 1-1 Spurs

CRYSTAL PALACE VS WEST HAM

Crystal Palace have been very impressive since they brought in new recruits to fortify and improve the team. Meanwhile, West Ham have been struggling in the league; with their draw at home to Middlesbrough last time out a testament to that. A Palace win is inevitable here.

MY PREDICTION: Crystal Palace 1-0 West Ham

MIDDLESBROUGH VS WATFORD

This clash has stalement written over it; with both sides still trying to find their feet in the league so far. Watford should be able to win this one, but with Aiktor Karanka side playing at home, it would be very difficult for 'The Hornets' to achieve this feat.

MY PREDICTION: Middlesbrough 0-0 Watford

SOUTHAMPTON VS BURNLEY

Southampton would be looking to build on their draw away from home at Leicester last time out with a win in this clash. While, their match week 8 opponent would be seeking to bounce back from their defeat to Arsenal at home. This match would be very entertaining to see, with both sides hoping to get a win from the fixture. I expect Southampton to just edge it with a slim win.

MY PREDICTION: Southampton 1-0 Burnley

LIVERPOOL VS MANCHESTER UNITED

This one no doubt is the clash everyone has been anticipating all through the international break. It would be interesting to see how this pans out, with Liverpool heading into this clash on a very fine-form and 'The Red Devils' still struggling to achieve that. I expect this clash to produce goals; as both side would be force to commit mistakes under pressure. Liverpool at home, United away, this is definitely going to make Monday night football a memorable one for fans and neutrals. I would be going for a draw here, though Liverpool might well win it - considering their recent form.

MY PREDICTION: Liverpool 1-1 Man United
