The new premier league season is just upon us, and it promises to be as exciting as ever. I would be giving my weekly predictions on matches to be played, just fasten your seat belt, cause you on for a pleasurable season with Odiko Godwin's blog.

Odiko Godwin's prediction for the premier league match day one matches

HULL CITY V LEICESTER CITY
The champions start off their title defense at newly promoted Hull city, and this match also serves as the curtain raiser to an exciting season ahead. Claudio Ranieri and his wards will be looking to prove a point at Hull. I would be going for a Leicester city win here.
MY PREDICTION: Hull City 1-3 Leicester City

BURNLEY V SWANSEA CITY
Sean Dyche has done brilliantly well with this Burnley side in the championship and would be looking to continue that in the premier league. Burnley playing in front of their fans might inspire them into getting something from this fixture, but I don't see them winning this one against the Welsh side.
MY PREDICTION: Burnley 1-1 Swansea City

CRYSTAL PALACE V WEST BROM
The Eagles were quite impressive last season under Alan Pardew; a feat that got them contending for the FA Cup title against Manutd, which they lost eventually thanks to a Jesse Lingard's stunner. But would be starting off their league campaign against a Tony Pulis lead side, who are famous for causing upsets. It would be difficult to really tell which side the pendulum will swing to here, but I would go with a very slim Crystal palace win.
MY PREDICTION: Crystal Palace 1-0 West Brom

EVERTON V TOTTENHAM
Ronald Koeman has been very busy in the transfer market recently, improving the team in all facets. While his counterpart Mauricio Pochettino, had a rather quiet summer so far. Spurs were quite brilliant last season, as they were also in the running for the league title only to deter at the latter stages of the season. Both sides poses great attacking firepower, so expect to see a very entertaining match. I would go with an Everton win nevertheless.
MY PREDICTION: Everton 2-1 Tottenham

MIDDLESBOROUGH V STOKE CITY
Aitor Karanka side are among the newbie in the league this season after gaining promotion and are up against a very good side Stoke city. I don't expect them to win Stoke but in football anything they say can happen.
MY PREDICTION: Middlesborough 0-0 Stoke City

SOUTHAMPTON V WATFORD
Both sides have something in common, they both changed managers over the summer and it would be interesting to see how the new managers adapt to the league. It would be difficult to predict this one, but I would be going for a Southampton win.
MY PREDICTION: Southampton 2-0 Watford

MANCHESTER CITY V SUNDERLAND
A lot have been said since Pep Guardiola took over at the Ethihad, and many are tipping the Citizens to even go on to win the league on Pep's first season in charge. It would be interesting to see how David Moyes set up his team to defend against this Guardiola side who would be asking all the questions as well as gaining possession leaving Sunderland players frustrated. I would be going for win definitely for this one, it would be very difficult for Sunderland to get anything from this match away at the Ethihad.
MY PREDICTION: Man City 3-0 Sunderland

BOURNEMOUTH V MANCHESTER UNITED
This same fixture last season produced a shocking result, with Eddie Howe's side defeating Manutd. But that shouldn't be the case this time around, as Manutd under new boss Jose Mourinho with plenty of quality signings, the latest being the big money acquisition of Paul Pogba and with the likes of Ibrahimovic, another shocking result is totally out of the books.
MY PREDICTION: Bournemouth 0-2 Manutd

ARSENAL V LIVERPOOL
Arsene Wenger's men would be looking to improve on last season start after falling to a defeat at home to West ham in their opening fixture last season. Defeated Man City in a pre-season friendly but lost their defender Gabriel to a lengthy injury in the match and unless they find a good replacement quickly it might cost them some points at the early stages of the league campaign. Jurgen Klopp side will be looking to improve also on last season's performance, as this season would see the German handler start the campaign with his team.
MY PREDICTION: Arsenal 2-2 Liverpool

CHELSEA V WEST HAM
Chelsea ended last season in a very damning fashion as a title holder, but with the change in manager and arrival of players like Kante, I expect Chelsea to be gunning for the title this season. On the other hand West Ham lost their Manger Sam Allardyce to the England job, and would be trying to adapt also to a new manager which might be a little bit difficult. It would be interesting to see if Conte would make Stamford Bridge a fortress as it has been over the years until last season.
MY PREDICTION: Chelsea 2-0 West Ham
