Manchester United came from behind to secure an emphatic victory against their Spanish opponent in a game where the referee was virtually the Man of The Match. So what were the striking talking points? Read on to find out.
Bruno Fernandes remains Manchester United's most important player this season
The Portuguese magnifico as he is fondly called by the Manchester United supporters stood up to be counted again on a night the team needed an inspiration. He scored twice from the spot before finishing smoothly a very beautiful team move to earn his hat trick. So far this campaign, in what has looked like a gloomy season for Manchester United, Bruno Fernandes has proven to be the only bright spark. Hopefully, he can inspire the team to clinch the Europa League title which is very much possible - owing to the fact that they remain the only team to be unbeaten in Europe this season.
Amorim's signings shone
Dorgu and Heaven both players brought in under the Ruben Amorim era performed excellently well in the game. Dorgu was responsible for one of the penalties and also was responsible for the red card shown to the Real Sociedad defender. Heaven on his part was really calm on the ball and defended really well. If the two signings continue to excel, it will proffer hope that Amorim will get better players in to the club if supported massively in the market.
Hojlund just can't find the back of the net
The Denmark international continued his goalscoring drought in a night where he had good chances to score. He is looking bereft of confidence and just can't find the back of the net. It's a no brainer that once Amorim can get a better and proven goalscorer in the market, Hojlund will be disposed easily. Though he got an assist for Dalot's goal, it's his goalscoring form that needs improving on and the faster he achieves that, the better for his chances of remaining a Manchester United player next season.
