Last week opening day matches were full of some intriguing display and some shocking results. Difficult to get any correct scores right last week but got four (4) match outcomes right which includes; Middlesborough draw against Stoke City, Man City's win over Sunderland, Manutd victory over Bournemouth and Chelsea's win over West ham.
Here are my match week two (2) predictions:
MANCHESTER UNITED V SOUTHAMPTON
Manutd got their season off to a glorious start last weekend at Bournemouth, after goals from Mata, Ibrahimovic' and Wayne Rooney ensured Manutd head into match week two as table toppers. But will face a more difficult side this friday in Southampton who managed a draw at home last weekend to ten man Watford. Playing at home, and with the confidence gathered from last sunday's win, I expect Manutd to get all the three points here.
MY PREDICTION: Manchester United 2-0 Soton
STOKE CITY V MANCHESTER CITY
Mark Hugh's side getting at least a point at Middlesbrough was never in doubt, But against Pep Guardiola's City, I don't expect Stoke to get any point from this fixture.
MY PREDICTION: Stoke City 1-2 Man City
BURNLEY V LIVERPOOL
Last weekend saw Liverpool emerge winners after a seven goal thriller at Arsenal. Showed great attacking prowess, but its their defense that needs some organization. Burnley on the other hand lost at home to Swansea. It would be difficult for them to get a win over Liverpool this weekend.
MY PREDICTION: Burnley 1-3 Liverpool
SWANSEA CITY V HULL CITY
Both teams won their opening day fixtures, with Hull City providing the greatest shock of the week by winning league title holders Leicester City; without a permanent Manager, depleted squad and no new signings. But I don't expect their Fairy tale to include Swansea this weekend as I will be going for a Swansea win.
MY PREDICTION: Swansea 2-1 Hull City
TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR V CRYSTAL PALACE
The london based club will be looking to get their first three points in front of their home fans, after their 1-1 draw last weekend away to Everton. Crystal Palace disappointed their home fans last weekend by letting West brom snatch all three points from the fixture. I don't see Palace improving from last week's disappointing outing against West brom.
MY PREDICTION: Tottenham 3-1 Crystal Palace
WATFORD V CHELSEA
Watford really impressed last weekend by forcing Southampton to a draw away from home even when they had to finish the match with ten men. But it is against a rejuvenated Chelsea side under new manager Conte that they would have to prove their doggedness. Fresh from a scintillating victory over West Ham, I expect Chelsea to continue on their wining form.
MY PREDICTION: Watford 0-1 Chelsea
WEST BROM V EVERTON
As I said on last week prediction, Tony Pulis's side are famous for causing big problems to clubs and they showed it last weekend by getting a win at Palace. Everton will be looking to improve on their draw against spurs this weekend at Palace. It would be pretty difficult to predict the outcome of this match, so am going with a draw.
MY PREDICTION: West Brom 1-1 Everton
SUNDERLAND V MIDDLESBROUGH
Sunderland showed great fighting spirit last weekend to come from a goal down to equalize, only to be let down by Paddy McNair's own goal to gift Mancity the win. I expect them to go a bit further this weekend against new boys Middlesbrough with a win.
MY PREDICTION: Sunderland 2-0 Middlesbrough
WEST HAM V BOURNEMOUTH
The hammers were disappointed not to have gotten anything from last weekend's encounter with Chelsea at the bridge, despite coming from behind to level things up. I expect them to compensate their fans who went wild after the equalizer only for their joy to be dented by Costa's stunning low drive few minutes from stoppage time. A West Ham win is all I see here, sorry Bournemouth.
MY PREDICTION: West Ham 2-0 Bournemouth
LEICESTER CITY V ARSENAL
Last weekend was disappointing for both clubs as they suffered shocking defeats. Arsenal's defense still a major issue for them this season until Wenger improve that aspect of his team this season. Leicester always find playing Arsenal difficult, but it would be interesting to see if they will bounce back from last weekend's disappointing loss to Hull city this weekend. I expect Arsenal to continue their dominance over Leicester though.
MY PREDICTION: Leicester City 1-3 Arsenal
